Job summary

On Side Restoration Services Ltd. is seeking experienced carpenters to rebuild and restore damaged property across disaster sites, returning spaces to their pre-disaster condition.

You’ll work with interior carpentry, drywall, painting and finishing to deliver quality results. We require 10+ years of interior carpentry experience, strong leadership, attention to detail, safety mindset, and the ability to work with tools and cross-train in other departments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years doing interior carpentry repairs/restoration.
• Leadership to guide helpers and train less experienced workers.
• Restoration/rebuild focus (flood/fire damage).
• Attention to detail, passion for quality and pride in the work you do.
• Tools and the skills to use them.
• Strong people and communication skills.
• A safety mindset.
• Willingness to cross train into other departments.
• Tech-savvy (comfortable using apps and software).
• Valid drivers license.
• Ability to pass a criminal record check.
• Ability to communicate in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Finishing work and fine details, rough and trim.
• Installation, doors, trim, moldings, baseboards and hardware.
• Repairs to wooden structures of all sorts.
• Drywall repairs, mudding, sanding, taping and finishing.
• Brush and roller painting (could include walls, ceilings, trim).
• Insulation and vapour barrier installation.
• Cabinetry (removal, repair, reinstallation).
• Framing.

Carpenters at On Side rebuild and restore damaged personal property anywhere and anytime a disaster strikes. With the goal of getting things back to a pre-disaster state Carpenters or Multi-Skilled Tradespeople use the skills of carpenters, drywallers and painters! If you’re passionate about helping people and skilled at making things right, this is your chance to make a real difference.

Compensation

• Salary Range: $28-$30/hour

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement. Meaning you’ll work regular weekday hours and participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule.
