Job summary

First Onsite in Canada is seeking an experienced Carpenter (Internally known as Carpenter III) to lead restoration and rebuild projects. You will plan, review blueprints, and perform hands-on carpentry across framing, drywall, flooring, siding, roofing, and cabinetry while mentoring others to ensure high-quality results.

You’ll work with Project Managers, apply strong safety practices, and adapt to transforming fire-damaged homes or restoring commercial spaces as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of carpentry or construction experience in restoration or related industry.
• Journeyperson certification in carpentry preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of framing, finishing, drywall, flooring, roofing, siding, and cabinetry installation.
• Proven ability to read blueprints, apply construction math, and plan material needs accurately.
• Skilled in safe use of hand and power tools with strong attention to quality and detail.
• Knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, safety practices, and cost awareness.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to support and guide others.
• Proficient in using mobile devices and Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid full class's driver’s license and clear driver’s abstract depending
• Fit test and other safety certifications.
• Must be able to work overtime, on weekends and participate in rotating on-call schedule
• Ability to complete work activities that may involve material handling, lifting, climbing, and PPE including respirators, safety footwear, and other required gear

Responsibilities

• Guide other skilled trades and ensure projects meet quality and safety standards.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to keep projects running smoothly.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CARPENTER

As a Carpenter, you take ownership of the work from start to finish. You\'ll plan your day, review blueprints, and tackle a mix of hands-on carpentry that may include framing, drywall, flooring, siding, roofing, and fine finishing. You\'ll make sure every measurement, cut, and installation meets the highest standard of precision and safety. You\'ll work closely with Project Managers and guide other skilled trades to keep projects running smoothly. Some days you\'ll be transforming a fire-damaged home; other days, you\'ll be restoring commercial spaces to full operation. Every project showcases your craftsmanship, teamwork, and ability to problem-solve with confidence and skill.
