MNP in Canada is seeking an Accountant to join our Assurance & Accounting team. You will deliver tailored financial information to help clients make informed decisions and act as a trusted advisor in a rapidly evolving reporting landscape.

Qualifikationen

• Completion of, or working towards, a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major is preferred).
• Completion of, or working towards, prerequisites for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) upon commencement of employment.
• Previous accounting related office experience is considered an asset.
• Customer service and/or client service experience is considered an asset.
• Experience working with accounting and tax software is considered an asset.

Aufgaben

• Develop technical skills in areas such as: compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax.
• Develop and apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP and ASPE.
• Set-up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses, manage multiple files and conduct counts.
• Perform AR/AP, capital asset activity and payroll walk-through with clients professionally.
• Summarize financial status by preparing balance sheets, P&L and reports.
• Assess appropriateness of audit evidence for expenses, revenues and assets.
• Review and correct discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
• Establish chart of accounts and posting entries.
• Prepare correspondence, client summaries and presentations on engagement findings.
• Collaborate with client engagement team and build client relationships.
• Contribute to process improvements and leverage internal programs.
• Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary.
