Job summary

MNP is seeking an Accountant to join our Assurance & Accounting team in Canada. You will help deliver tailored financial information that enables clients to make informed decisions in a rapidly evolving financial reporting landscape.

The role emphasizes applying IFRS/GAAP/ASPE knowledge, setting up client files, coordinating multiple engagements and collaborating with client teams to deliver high-quality services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration (accounting/finance major preferred)
• Prerequisites for CPA Professional Education Program upon employment
• Experience in accounting office is an asset
• Customer service experience is an asset
• Experience with accounting and tax software is an asset

Responsibilities

• Develop technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax
• Set up files for new clients and manage multiple engagements
• Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital asset acquisition and payroll walkthroughs
• Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other client reports
• Assess appropriateness of audit evidence and investigate discrepancies
• Establish charts of accounts and post entries
• Prepare client correspondence, technical reports and engagement summaries
• Collaborate with client engagement team and travel as needed
