Job summary

MNP in Canada is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Assurance & Accounting team. You will deliver tailored financial information and support decision making for a variety of client engagements.

The role emphasizes GAAP, IFRS and SEC knowledge, with 2–4 years of public accounting experience. You’ll mentor junior staff, collaborate with clients, and participate in business development while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.
• 2-4 years of public accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC and IFRS.
• Experience with accounting and tax software.
• Understanding of business, accounting, and practice development principles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct review and audit engagements.
• Set-up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses; manage multiple files and conduct inventory counts.
• Perform accounts receivable/payable, asset acquisition/disposition and payroll walk-through with clients.
• Prepare balance sheets, P&L statements and other reports showing engagement findings.
• Assess audit evidence for expenses, revenues, and payables; ensure accuracy of entries.
• Review, investigate and correct discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
• Establish charts of accounts and posting entries.
• Prepare client correspondence and presentations outlining findings.
• Mentor junior team members and develop client relationships.
• Participate in business development and travel as needed.
