Job summary

MNP is seeking an Accountant to join our Assurance & Accounting team in Canada. You will help deliver comprehensive, tailored financial information and act as a trusted advisor to clients, supporting them through evolving reporting and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities include preparing statements, applying IFRS/GAAP/ASPE, setting up client files, coordinating with engagement teams, and contributing to process improvements while maintaining travel flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration with accounting/finance focus.
• CPA Professional Education Program prerequisites to commence employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax.
• Apply IFRS/GAAP/ASPE knowledge.
• Set up files for new clients and manage multiple files.
• Perform A/R, A/P, asset acquisitions and payroll walkthrough with clients.
• Prepare balance sheets, P&L statements and other reports.
• Assess audit evidence and discrepancies.
• Establish chart of accounts and posting entries.
• Prepare client correspondence and engagement findings.
• Collaborate with engagement team and client contacts.
• Contribute to process improvements and use internal systems.
