Job summary

MNP's Assurance & Accounting team is seeking an Accountant to deliver tailored financial information for clients, acting as a trusted advisor amid a rapidly evolving reporting landscape. The role supports compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax functions while growing IFRS/GAAP/ASPE knowledge and client relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting/finance major preferred).
• Prerequisites for CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) upon employment start.
• Previous accounting related office experience is an asset.
• Customer service or client service experience is an asset.
• Experience with accounting and tax software is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax.
• Develop and apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP and ASPE.
• Set-up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses; manage multiple files and inventory counts.
• Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, asset management and payroll walk-through with clients.
• Summarize financial status by preparing balance sheets, P&L statements and other reports.
• Assess audit evidence for expenses, revenues, assets and prepaid expenses.
• Review and correct discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
• Establish charts of accounts and posting entries.
• Prepare correspondence, reports, client summaries and presentations of findings.
• Collaborate with client teams and manage client relationships.
