Job summary

MNP in Canada seeks a Senior Accountant to join our Assurance & Accounting team. You will provide tailored financial information, advise clients and support evolving reporting requirements in a dynamic business landscape.

As part of a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture, you will lead engagements, mentor junior staff and contribute to business development while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• CPA designation and 2–4 years of public accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS and SEC reporting.
• Experience with accounting and tax software.
• Excellent written and verbal English; French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements.
• Set up files for new clients and manage multiple files; conduct inventory counts.
• Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, asset acquisitions and payroll walkthroughs.
• Summarize clients' financial status with balance sheets, P&L, and other reports.
• Assess and assure appropriateness of audit evidence for expenses, revenues and assets.
• Review, investigate and correct discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
• Establish charts of accounts and post entries.
• Prepare correspondence, technical reports and engagement summaries.
• Develop client relationships while mentoring junior team members.
• Participate in business development and identify new opportunities.
• Maintain flexibility to travel as necessary.
