Overview
Assistant Store Manager (ASM) at Yummy Market Inc. Location: North York, ON, and other locations as we grow.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager in planning and implementing strategies to attract customers and increase sales
- Coordinate daily customer service operations
- Track the progress of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual objectives
- Monitor and maintain store inventory
- Evaluate employee performance and identify hiring and training needs
- Supervise and motivate staff to perform their best
- Coach and support new and existing employees
- Monitor retail operating costs, budgets and resources
- Promote and support sales training programs and techniques
- Manage departments in the absence of department managers/assistants
- Communicate and interact with internal and external customers
- Analyze customer behavior and adjust product positioning
- Handle escalated complaints from customers in store
- Create reports, analyze and interpret retail data, store revenues vs. expenses and review direct competition data
- Partner with Procurement team to understand product cycles, and merchandising strategies
- Partner with Receivers to ensure a smooth process of accepting and moving product to appropriate areas of the store
- Ensure store is ready for business
- Participate in scheduling of store employees
- Step in for Store Manager for meetings/daily operating responsibilities as needed
- Ensure all employees adhere to company policies and guidelines
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
- Experience: hands-on Assistant Store Manager: 3 years (required); Retail management: 3 years (required)
