Overview

Article Writer / Content Writer for Vancouver Visual Art Foundation (VVAF). This remote/online position (with occasional virtual meetings) is ideal for someone with a strong interest in the arts who enjoys storytelling, research, and creating meaningful written content. You will contribute one article per month (300–1,000 words) to support our monthly newsletter and weekly blog while helping amplify voices within the visual arts community.

Responsibilities
  • Write one original article per month (300–1,000 words) for VVAF’s blog and/or newsletter
  • Research and develop thoughtful, informative arts-related content
  • Conduct artist or community interviews (written or virtual), when required
  • Edit, proofreading, and revise drafts for clarity, tone, style, and structure
  • Collaborate with the VVAF team on content ideas, scheduling, and deadlines
  • Manage writing projects independently while meeting agreed timelines
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven confidence and experience in writing blog articles and newsletter content
  • Proficiency with word processing and content management tools, including:
    • Google Docs
    • Microsoft Word / Office
    • WordPress or other CMS platforms
  • Strong research, interviewing, and note-taking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to stay focused, organized, and meet deadlines
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills
  • Ability to work independently online while collaborating effectively with a team
  • High proficiency in English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary
