Job Details

Responsibilities
  • Adjust their designs to conform to limiting factors such as budget allocation and cost of materials
  • Award construction contracts to building contractors
  • Consult with clients to determine the type, style and purpose of renovations or new building construction being considered
  • Manage the coordination and overall integration of technical activities in architecture or engineering projects
  • Negotiate contracts with clients with a focus on design, construction time, price or others
  • Participate in contract negotiations
  • Project management
  • Supervise the preparation of drawings, specifications and other construction documents for use by contractors and tradespersons
  • Conceptualize and design buildings and develop plans describing design specifications, building materials, costs and construction schedules
  • Office management
  • Construction site supervision
  • Prepare sketches and models
  • Conduct feasibility studies of building projects
  • Supervision of technologists, technicians and other architects
  • Monitor activities on construction sites to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Co-ordinate multidisciplinary projects
Qualifications
  • Membership in l'Ordre des architectes du Québec
  • Computer and technology knowledge: ARCHICAD, Adobe Photoshop, AutoCAD, Autodesk REVIT
  • Type of related experience: Architecture
  • Area of work experience: Project coordination, Business administration/management
  • Architectural specialization: Restoration and/or preservation
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure, Attention to detail
  • Personal suitability: Accurate, Client focus, Excellent oral communication, Excellent written communication, Judgement, Organized, Team player
