Why Valtech? We’re the experience innovation company - a trusted partner to the world’s most recognized brands. To our people we offer growth opportunities, a values-driven culture, international careers and the chance to shape the future of experience.

The opportunity

At Valtech, you’ll find an environment designed for continuous learning, meaningful impact, and professional growth. Whether you're pioneering new digital solutions, challenging conventional thinking or building the next generation of customer experiences, your work will help transform industries.

As a Adobe Experience Platform BackEnd Engineer you are passionate about experience innovation and eager to push the boundaries of what’s possible. You bring [8 YEARS] of experience, a growth mindset and a drive to make a lasting impact.

We’re seeking a seasoned AEM Edge Delivery Services (EDS) Senior Backend Developer to build, and optimize AEM-based content platforms with a focus on AEM as a Cloud Service, Universal Editor, Content Fragment APIs/GraphQL, Sling/OSGi services, and integration with external systems. You will lead backend engineering across multi-region, scalable deployments, ensuring performance, security, resilience, and DevOps maturity in cloud-native AEM environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement backend solutions for AEM (Cloud Service) and EDS including Sling Models, OSGi services, custom workflows, and content APIs.
  • Model content with Content Fragment Models; expose structured content via GraphQL; structure APIs for omnichannel consumption.
  • Define caching strategies using Dispatcher/CDN (Fastly/Akamai/CloudFront) for EDS and classic AEM delivery.
  • Establish non-functional requirements (NFRs): performance SLAs, uptime, DR, observability, and security baselines.
Development & Integration
  • Implement business logic in Sling/OSGi, extend Core Components, and build backend services integrating with CRM, PIM, DAM, marketing tech, or identity providers.
  • Develop REST/GraphQL endpoints; manage service accounts, scopes, and secure secrets.
  • Integrate Adobe IMS, Adobe I/O Runtime, Adobe Target/Analytics, translation services, and personalization APIs.
Cloud, DevOps & Quality
  • Own CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps/Jenkins) for AEM Cloud Service including code quality gates, static analysis, automated tests, and deployment promotion.
  • Implement automated unit/integration tests (JUnit, Mockito) and contract testing for APIs.
Security & Compliance
  • Apply OWASP best practices; secure endpoints, headers, session management; harden OSGi configs.
  • Handle PII compliance, data retention, and encryption; design role-based access and workflow governance.
  • Mentor developers; own backlog refinement; collaborate with architects, product owners, QA, and frontend squads.
  • Contribute to solution roadmaps, estimation, and stakeholder communication.
Must have qualifications
  • 8–12+ years of software engineering; 6+ years with AEM; 4+ years with AEM Cloud Service and Edge Delivery Services.
  • Experience with Universal Editor authoring models and EDS delivery workflows.
  • DevOps: CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform optional), cloud logging/monitoring; Dispatcher/CDN tuning.
  • Security: OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, secure headers, secrets management (Vault/KMS), SSO/SAML/Adobe IMS.
  • Performance engineering: caching, indexing, query optimization, asset processing, and pagination strategies.
Nice to have qualifications
  • Adobe Cloud Manager pipeline tuning, Adobe I/O Runtime (serverless), Adobe Target/Launch/Analytics integration.
  • Headless/omnichannel delivery to mobile/web/IoT.
  • Experience with GraphQL federation, schema stitching, or API gateways (Apigee/Kong/Azure APIM).
