Overview

Adult Special Education Instructor (To Garner Applications) – CNC is seeking a JET Program Instructor who will prepare and deliver course curriculum, develop skills relating to obtaining and maintaining employment, supervise job placements, and liaise with community support services.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver course curriculum including integrated learning opportunities.
  • Develop skills relating to obtaining and maintaining employment.
  • Supervise job placements and liaise with community support services.
  • Promote a positive work atmosphere and communicate in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect with students and colleagues.
  • Be part of a team actively contributing to the vision, mission, and goals of the College and supporting the aspirations and needs of learners and communities.
  • Contribute to hiring criteria considerations including professional qualifications, professional experience, teaching experience, college contributions, community awareness, and personal attributes as applicable to the job classification.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Adult Special Education is required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Teaching experience with adults (preferred) who have a broad range of developmental disabilities.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Provincial Instructor’s Diploma is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, a belief in the abilities of people, and respect for individual learning styles.
  • Ability to liaise with community groups; knowledge of supported employment placements.
Salary

$66.42 - $73.58 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience
