Job description

TAAG is a multidisciplinary firm offering a wide range of services for small and medium-sized businesses, individuals, governmental and non-governmental organizations. TAAG’s service lines include accounting and bookkeeping, tax planning, multi-family office services including wealth management, business and corporate law, and marketing and design. We are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and proficient in financial record-keeping. As an Accounting Clerk, they will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Enter data accurately and timely for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
  2. Assist in preparing and publishing monthly financial statements using QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Sage 50 software.
  3. Support month-end and year-end close procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  4. Maintain quality control over financial transactions and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  5. Assist with quarterly and annual audits by providing necessary documentation and support.
  6. Generate financial reports for management to facilitate decision-making and strategic planning.
  7. Verify client documentation to ensure compliance with guidelines and standards.
  8. Provide administrative and financial support to management and other staff members as needed.
  9. Perform any additional duties as necessary to support the smooth operation of the accounting department and the company.

Qualifications:

  1. Post-secondary diploma in bookkeeping, accounting or related field is preferred.
  2. Proven work experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  3. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Online, Sage 50) and Microsoft Excel.
  4. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  5. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  6. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  9. Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset.
