Family Innovation Corp. (FIC) is a multi-family office providing multiple services, including estate planning, risk management, financial counsel, trusteeship, investment advice, and other services.

Position Summary

We are seeking a detailed oriented, self-motivated accountant who will use their financial and accounting background to support our clients. This role provides full-cycle accounting services to a health clinic, requiring someone who is comfortable diving deep into the details while maintaining a clear view of the bigger picture.

This position will be a rewarding opportunity for those who enjoy taking responsibility for the entire process start to finish, as the role involves completing all accounting activities, financial reporting, and the support of other family office tasks.

This is a full-time, on-site position based at our Vancouver location.

Responsibilities
  • Full responsibility for maintaining the accounting records, including recording all bookkeeping
  • Recording and reconciliation of intercompany transactions
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements
  • Oversee cash management, including preparing wire transfers and coordinating funds movement with financial institutions
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Cash-flow forecasting and related reporting
  • Maintain investment reporting for marketable securities and private equity investments
  • Stakeholder management and relationship building, including coordinating with other service providers
  • Prepare various tax and regulatory returns (T4s, GST, WCB and Corporate tax filings)
  • Maintains confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Skills or Experience
  • Bachelors degree or diploma in accounting, finance or related field required
  • 4+ years work experience in full-cycle accounting experience
  • Proficient in IFirm and QuickBooks Online
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Strong ability to prioritize multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines
  • Accounting designation is a plus
