Your role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to support key accounting functions including the month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations and tax filings. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of accounting principles and play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.

Here you’ll get to:

• Support the monthly and quarterly close process ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Perform cash and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare quarterly and annual reconciliations and support financial statement preparation.
• Complete and reconcile sales tax filings (e.g. GST / HST) accurately and on time.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and assist with account analysis.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors.
• Communicate with Finance leadership to identify risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with operations teams to optimize business outcomes.
• Contribute to the successful launch of a new accounting system by participating in testing, training and user support.
• Support audits and respond to ad hoc financial reporting needs.

About you:

• CPA designation or in progress preferred.
• 35 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of accounting principles (ASPE, IFRS and/or US GAAP).
• Proficient in Excel and accounting software (SAP S/4HANA preferred).
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
