Account Director (Kingston)

Mohawk Medbuy Corporation (MMC) is a national, not-for-profit, shared services organization that supports hundreds of health care providers across Canada, as well as child welfare agencies and other public sector organizations. MMC provides value-driven contracting and procurement solutions for medical/surgical supplies, pharmaceutical products, local sourcing, capital (equipment, FF&E and redevelopment) and nutrition solutions. Other services include data analytics, in-hospital support, warehousing/logistics, technology, procure-to-pay, and accounts payable.

MMC is actively supporting the creation of a resilient value chain that incorporates environmental social, and economic wellbeing – and fosters the participation of Indigenous businesses. Based in Burlington, ON, MMC operates regional hubs in Toronto, Thunder Bay, Kingston, Brantford and London as well as a hub and distribution centre in Oakville.

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Account Director to support our Account Management team. This position is a Hybrid position working Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm in Kingston, Ontario.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Vice President, Account Management & Integrations, the Account Director (AD) is accountable for developing and maintaining customer satisfaction at their assigned hospital(s). This individual represents the comprehensive MMC service offering and collaborates with MMC service leaders, ensuring performance expectations are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage the business relationship between MMC and the hospital(s):
  • Conversant in all MMC services and performance expectations, as well as in hospital operations and priorities.
  • Serve as the critical point of contact with the Hospital for all MMC for hospital-specific priorities, opportunities, challenges and escalations.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with Hospital customers, internal MMC partners and other stakeholders. Managing the key communications to ensure a consistent approach as the liaison between Hospital stakeholders and MMC service leaders.
  • Identify and assess opportunities for new and/or expanded delivery of MMC services.
  • Meet with Hospital Senior Leadership on a regular basis to provide key business/service updates and ensuring MMC alignment to their business priorities.
  • Meet with MMC services leaders providing updates as required.
  • Develop effective and efficient processes to identify, elevate and manage issues through to resolution.
  • Participate in Member committee meetings (e.g., PESC, Leadership Forms) on a regular basis and/or as required.
  • Work effectively with MMC service leaders to align on priorities and execution, ensure services are effectively delivered, issues and opportunities addressed.
  • Manage Member-specific sourcing plans with oversight on overdue initiatives and challenges at a member and program level. Follow up and manage expectations.
  • Obtain annual procurement plan approvals and liaising between Members and MMC on progress.
  • Be the subject matter expert on hospital’s signing authority policy and key contacts.
  • Key point person for hospital capital plans and initiative intake.
  • Responsible for change management and subsequent communication between MMC and hospitals.
  • Internal liaison at MMC for any cross-functional priorities at assigned hospitals.
  • Facilitate QBR’s with cross-functional updates and topics.
  • Oversight of Member’s Board schedule and internal liaison for initiatives resulting in contracts that require Board approval.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Post secondary degree in a related discipline
  • 6 - 8 years of account management or customer relationship management experience
  • Knowledge of Procurement strategies and BPSPD
  • Strong interpersonal skills required to build and maintain collaborative relationships with the with all levels of management, customers, peers, suppliers, and staff
  • Analytical skills with ability to analyze data sets using various systems to identify trends and make recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully balance the needs of the customer while working within the constraints of the business
  • Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to make independent decisions and initiate action
  • Demonstrated skills in planning, negotiation, evaluation, and implementation processes
  • Strong business acumen and leadership skills

Travel
  • Ability to travel to Mohawk Medbuy offices if required and your allocated portfolio of Member Hospitals frequently
