2nd YEAR APPRENTICE ELECTRICIAN-A/B SHIFT-BROOKS, AB

With approximately 3,300 employees, JBS Food Canada ULC ("JBS Canada") is one of Canada's largest beef processors. We operate four locations: the main processing facility in Brooks, Alberta; the Head Office and a case ready plant in Calgary, Alberta; and JBS Ontario in Belleville, Ontario. The Brooks facility can harvest and process more than 4,000 head of cattle per day and produces products including boxed beef primals, ground beef, beef trimmings, beef by-products and hides for shipment across Canada and worldwide. The Mountain Creek Farms case-ready facility in Calgary produces value-added products such as marinated, portion-sized, multi-pack options, kebabs, and more. JBS Ontario in Belleville produces fresh meat and seafood for leading retailers in Canada.

JBS Food Canada ULC is recruiting a 2nd Year Apprentice Electrician for our Brooks, Alberta facility.

Note: Apprentice Electrician job will be located in Brooks, Alberta.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations;
• Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components;
• Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance;
• Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors;
• Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems;
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices;
• Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records;
• May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.

Requirements

• Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training;
• Experience as an electrician apprentice is required;
• Medium Voltage, Weigh Scales, Vision Systems, HMI, Siemens S5/S7, Allen Bradley SLC5 PLC, VFD, Servomotors, Profibus/Ethernet Network Communications experience essential;
• Electrical construction, installation experience required;
• Must be able to design and carry out minor modifications on industrial equipment;
• Strong decision making, problem solving troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills;
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines;
• Ability to work independently and in a multifunctional team with minimum supervision;
• Must be available for shift work.

Noisy, odours, hot, cold/refrigerated.

Compensation and Employment Type

Earn Competitive Wage: $31.72-$32.72

Permanent Full Time Employment
