Job summary

The Town of Smithers is hiring an Engineering Technologist I-IV to deliver municipal engineering technical services, including drafting and surveying support. The role reports to the Manager of Engineering and supports water, sewer, and storm projects.

• Coordinate with the Engineering Manager on project support.

POSITION TITLE: Engineering Technologist I - IV

HOURS OF WORK

40 hours per week

HOURLY RATE

$39.41-$42.34

Reporting to the Manager of Engineering, the Engineering Technologist provides a variety of engineering technical services for the Town of Smithers.

Qualifications for an Engineering Technologist I - IV includes at least one to five years in Civil or Municipal Engineering Technology, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Candidates with lesser experience are encouraged to apply, and will be considered at a Level I ($39.41) or Level II ($40.12).

Essential Qualifications Include

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License
• WHMIS, Traffic Control, First Aid
• Water, Sewer, Storm, Surveying, Computer-aided Design, and Drafting, eligibility for membership as an Applied Science Technologist with ASTTBC
