The City of Courtenay invites applications for a position of temporary (12-months) "Engineering Technologist”in the Utilities Division of the Operational Services Department. This is a union position subject to the terms and conditions in the collective agreement between the City and CUPE Local 556.
The Utilities Technologist provides technical support and coordinates technical work related to developing, implementing, and optimizing the Utilities Division program(s). This position is involved in the day-to-day planning of preventive maintenance programs and the effective implementation of industry best practices related to utilities.
The current hourly wage rate is $44.45 based on a 35-hour work week (Schedule “A”). This is a temporary 12-month position.
