Job summary

The Town of Smithers is seeking a Planner I for a 2-year term, full-time, 35 hours per week. The successful candidate will provide professional planning services to homeowners, developers, and the public, explain bylaws, processes, and town initiatives, and collaborate with Council on projects and applications.

The role requires an undergraduate degree in Community Planning and a valid Class 5 driver’s license.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

The Planner provides professional Planning services for the Town of Smithers and works collaboratively with homeowners, developers, and the public to provide information on Town bylaws, processes, and initiatives. They will also provide advice and make recommendations to Council on a variety of projects and applications.
