Job summary

Town of Smithers is seeking a Planner I for a full-time, 2-year term to deliver professional planning services and help guide bylaws and development processes.

ABOUT SMITHERS
Surrounded by mountain ranges and beautiful lakes and rivers, Smithers is a true northern gem. The town has a population of around 5,400 and is a service hub for the surrounding region comprised of approximately 15,000 people.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

The Planner provides professional Planning services for the Town of Smithers and works collaboratively with homeowners, developers, and the public to provide information on Town bylaws, processes, and initiatives. They will also provide advice and make recommendations to Council on a variety of projects and applications.

• Undergraduate degree in Community Planning
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
