Job summary

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a College or University program in Computer Science, IT, Mechanical Engineering, Interactive Media or Game Design, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience with gaming, VR, software development, engineering or digital design through academic projects or co-ops.
  • Hands-on with 3D modelling software and basic programming concepts.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint and Power BI for collaboration and data visualization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with development of VR technologies, 3D designs, and models for Point Cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate game mechanics and immersive elements into digital twin environments.
  • Develop interactive scenarios and user interfaces to simulate decommissioning and operational processes.
  • Assist with SharePoint site maintenance and Power BI dashboard updates.
  • Create and integrate 3D assets using CAD/modelling software.
  • Support project planning, reviews, and documentation of design iterations.

Do you enjoy working with virtual reality, 3D modelling, game mechanics, and interactive user experiences while collaborating with technical specialists on innovative projects? Duration: 4 Months (January-April)
Field of Study: Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Interactive Media or Game Design, Engineering or a related discipline.
Year of study: 2nd or 3rd year

What you will be doing!
  • Assisting with the development of virtual reality technologies, geometric 3D designs, and models to enhance Point Cloud environments.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to incorporate game mechanics, immersive elements, and user feedback features into digital twin environments.
  • Developing interactive scenarios and user interfaces to simulate decommissioning and operational processes.
  • Assisting with SharePoint site maintenance and Power BI dashboard updates.
  • Creating and integrating 3D assets using CAD and modelling software.
  • Participating in project schedule reviews and supporting project activities to help achieve established goals and objectives.
  • Documenting design iterations, technical information, and project progress to support effective team communication.
  • Attending meetings with technical staff and management to support project planning and execution activities.
  • Supporting research, testing, and continuous improvement activities related to VR and digital twin technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:
  • Education
    • Currently enrolled in a College or University program in:
      • Computer Science.
      • Information Technology.
      • Mechanical Engineering.
      • Interactive Media or Game Design.
      • Engineering.
      • Or a related discipline.
  • Experience
    • Experience gained through academic projects, co-op placements, personal projects, research activities, or extracurricular involvement related to gaming, virtual reality, software development, engineering, or digital design.
    • Experience with 3D modelling, game development, or virtual reality applications is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
    • Hands‑on experience with augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) applications.
    • Demonstrated ability to document technical processes and maintain organized project documentation.
    • Working knowledge of 3D modelling software such as Blender, Autodesk Inventor, SketchUp, or similar platforms.
    • Basic proficiency with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
    • Applied knowledge of SharePoint and Power BI for collaboration, reporting, and data visualization.
    • Basic understanding of programming concepts using Python, C#, or similar programming languages.
    • Demonstrated interest in game development, digital twins, immersive technologies, and interactive design.
    • Familiarity with robotics, industrial processes, or digital twin technologies is considered an asset.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team environmen t.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
    • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's "Standard on Security Screening" and the "Policy on Government Security".
Working Conditions:
  • Working schedule: Four (4) days per week, ten (10) hours per day for a forty (40) hour work week.
