Job summary

Near North District School Board seeks an Indigenous Grad Coach for a long-term occasional role commencing October 1, 2026, until the early return of the teacher. The successful candidate will hold an Ontario College of Teachers Certificate and Certification of Registration, plus Intermediate Qualifications.

Knowledge of Indigenous teachings and local resources, plus experience with Apple devices and EDSBY, are essential to support literacy, numeracy, and inclusive learning across the school

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Indigenous traditional teachings, cultures, perspectives, values and history.
• Awareness of local Indigenous community resources and ability to connect students and families to these resources.
• Knowledge of Ministry Curriculum and Assessment documents.
• Demonstrated experience with Apple based software and Mobile devices (iPad/MacBook/iMac).
• Evidence of understanding of varied learners with a focus on at-risk students.
• Evidence of supporting Literacy and Numeracy from a whole school perspective.
• Evidence of integration of technology for the documentation and evaluation of student work.
• Ability to work as part of a school team and to communicate effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize EDSBY to support student learning and guardian communication.
