Job summary

Skylus Holdings Pte Ltd is seeking a skilled Accountant to manage comprehensive accounting functions in Brazil. You will oversee general ledger, payables, receivables, fixed assets and bank reconciliations, ensuring accurate monthly, quarterly and annual closings.

The role includes preparing management accounts and statutory reports in line with applicable standards. You will liaise with auditors, tax consultants and authorities as needed, support budgeting and forecasting, and mentor junior

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full spectrum of accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
• Lead and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare management accounts, financial statements, and supporting schedules in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Monitor cash flow, prepare cash flow forecasts, and manage banking transactions to ensure effective cash flow management.
• Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Analyze Profit and Loss (P&L) statements and balance sheet accounts to identify variances, trends, and opportunity for improvement.
• Prepare and submit statutory reports, tax schedules, GST/VAT returns (where applicable), and other regulatory filings in compliance with applicable requirements.
• Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, bankers, and regulatory authorities on audit matters, tax compliance, and statutory reporting.
• Review and prepare relevant financial, accounting, and tax documentation, leveraging professional experience and expertise.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements, internal controls, and company policies.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business planning and management decision-making.
• Review accounting entries and financial documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures.
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of accounting systems, financial processes, and internal control procedures.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff where applicable to enhance team performance and work quality.
• Participate in finance-related projects and undertake other ad hoc duties as assigned by management.
