About the Role

Ethos is seeking a dynamic expert to take ownership of our regulatory product and forms filing. In this role, you’ll blend hands-on regulatory acumen with forward-looking product innovation to bring life insurance solutions to the market efficiently and compliantly. You’ll collaborate with carriers and cross-functional teams to navigate complex state regulations, ensuring new products and policy forms are designed, filed, and approved seamlessly. Your industry relationships and deep subject-matter expertise will be essential to influence regulators, shape product designs, and accelerate approvals.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead Filing: Own and manage the Ethos portion of the filing process for policy forms and applications, ensuring speed, compliance, and quality.
  • Inform Product Development Strategy: Collaborate with Product, Underwriting, Legal, Compliance, and carrier partners to refine product features and applications that balance innovation with regulatory standards.
  • Optimize Application Design: Provide expert guidance on bracketing, reflexive questions, and variability, enabling flexible yet compliant product offerings.
  • Monitor Industry Trends: Stay ahead of regulatory changes and competitor filings, translating insights into tangible strategies and recommendations for product evolution.
  • Improve Processes Continuously: Innovate on filing processes by implementing best practices and technology solutions, bolstering efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications and Skills
  • 5+ years in product form filings with strong understanding of state insurance department standards and requirements.
  • Broad knowledge of insurance products and regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to read and interpret laws and regulations related to product and endorsement forms and filings.
  • Proven ability to shape and refine insurance applications, other new business and disclosure forms, and related statements of variability based on internal, Carrier, and Regulator feedback.
  • Strong collaborative communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with carriers, legal, and compliance, UW, product development and product teams.
  • Highly self-sufficient and entrepreneurial, capable of driving both strategic initiatives, day-to-day filings, and forms creation and maintenance.
  • Experience in SERFF system a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; JD, CPCU, FLMI, or AIRC a plus.
  • Ownership: Take the reins of product regulatory filings and guide the creation of innovative solutions.

The US national base salary range for this full-time position is $102,000 - $166,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
