We are looking for a Oracle Database Administrator who wants to learn and transform his career.
Requirements:
- Database Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases (11g / 12c / 19c) on Linux/Unix platforms
- Perform database creation, configuration, cloning, and decommissioning
- Manage tablespaces, datafiles, redo logs, control files, and storage growth
- Perform routine maintenance activities such as space management and housekeeping
- Backup & Recovery
- Design and implement backup and recovery strategies using RMAN
- Perform database restores and recoveries (complete and point‑in‑time recovery)
- Test backup and recovery procedures regularly to ensure DR readiness
- Handle archive log management and retention policies
- Performance Monitoring & Tuning
- Monitor database performance using AWR, ADDM, ASH, OEM
- Identify and resolve performance issues related to CPU, memory, I/O, SQL
- Tune SQL queries, indexing strategies, and optimizer statistics
- Manage Oracle initialization parameters for optimal performance
- High Availability & Disaster Recovery
- Implement and support Oracle Data Guard (Physical / Logical Standby)
- Manage Oracle RAC environments for high availability
- Perform planned and unplanned failover and switchover operations
- Support DR drills and business continuity testing
- Security & Compliance
- Manage database users, roles, profiles, and privileges
- Ensure database security standards and compliance requirements are met
- Implement auditing, password policies, and access controls
- Apply security patches and CPU updates
- Perform Oracle patching, PSU/CPU upgrades, and version upgrades
- Support database migrations across platforms or versions
- Coordinate with application and infrastructure teams during releases
- Follow change management and release processes
- Production Support
- Provide 24x7 on"-"call support for production databases
- Troubleshoot database incidents and perform root cause analysis
- Work with vendors and internal teams to resolve complex issues
- Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and operational documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and administer Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c) in development, test, UAT, and production environments
- Monitor database health and availability; proactively identify and resolve issues
- Execute backup and recovery operations using RMAN, including restore and point‑in‑time recovery
- Manage database storage: tablespaces, datafiles, redo logs, archive logs, and control files
- Ensure optimal database performance through SQL tuning, index management, statistics gathering, and parameter tuning
- Monitor and tune database resources using AWR, ADDM, ASH, OEM, and performance views
- Implement and support High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions using Oracle RAC and Data Guard
- Perform Data Guard switchover and failover operations during planned and unplanned events
- Apply Oracle patches, CPUs, PSUs, and perform version and platform upgrades
- Support database migrations across environments and Oracle versions
- Manage database security, including users, roles, privileges, profiles, and auditing
- Ensure compliance with security standards, operational policies, and regulatory requirements
- Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures
- Coordinate with application, system, and network teams during deployments and outages
- Automate routine DBA tasks using shell scripting where applicable
- Maintain DBA documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks
- Participate in 24x7 support and on"-"call rotations for critical production systems
