Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a MongoDB DBA in Brazil to join a global IT services leader. The role focuses on administering MongoDB databases across Dev, Test, UAT, and Production to ensure high availability and optimal performance.

You will design replication and sharding, implement robust backup and recovery, and optimize queries and indexes while maintaining security and operational runbooks. Collaboration with DevOps and applications teams is essential, along with on-call rotations.

Qualificações

• In-depth MongoDB architecture knowledge including replica sets, sharding, and WiredTiger storage engine.
• Experience with backup, restore, and DR strategies for MongoDB environments.
• Strong SQL/NoSQL troubleshooting and query optimization skills.
• Experience managing large, mission-critical production MongoDB environments.
• Solid understanding of NoSQL data modeling and schema design.
• Familiarity with MongoDB administration tools and utilities.
• Working knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Knowledge of security best practices and access control for MongoDB.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication abilities.

Responsabilidades

• Install, configure, and administer MongoDB databases across Dev, Test, UAT, and Production environments.
• Manage day-to-day MongoDB operations ensuring high availability and performance.
• Design and maintain MongoDB replication (Replica Sets) and sharding setups.
• Monitor database health, performance, and capacity using MongoDB tools and monitoring solutions.
• Perform backup and recovery using mongodump/mongorestore and automated tools.
• Troubleshoot replication lag, oplog size, slow queries, locking, and node failures.
• Tune performance including index optimization and schema design reviews.
• Manage database security, including users, roles, authentication, authorization, and encryption.
• Perform upgrades, patching, and migrations with minimal downtime.
• Support High Availability and Disaster Recovery strategies and conduct DR drills.
• Handle scaling activities (horizontal and vertical) and coordinate deployments with DevOps.
• Conduct root cause analysis for production incidents and implement preventive measures.
• Automate routine tasks using Shell/Python scripts.
• Maintain DBA documentation, SOPs, and runbooks.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call and production support rotations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor database health, performance, and capacity using MongoDB tools and monitoring solutions
• Perform backup and recovery using mongodump/mongorestore, snapshots, and automated backup tools
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to replication lag, oplog size, slow queries, locking, and node failures
• Perform performance tuning, including index optimization, query tuning, schema design review, and configuration tuning
• Manage database security, including users, roles, authentication, authorization, and encryption (TLS, at‑rest encryption)
• Perform MongoDB upgrades, patching, and migrations with minimal downtime
• Support High Availability and Disaster Recovery strategies and conduct DR drills
• Handle database scaling activities (horizontal and vertical scaling)
• Work closely with application and DevOps teams during deployments and incidents
• Perform root cause analysis for production incidents and implement preventive measures
• Automate routine DBA tasks using scripts (Shell / Python)
• Maintain DBA documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks
• Participate in 24x7 on‑call and production support rotations
