Tata Consultancy Services in Barueri, São Paulo, Brazil seeks an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator to manage SQL Server 2012–2025, install, configure, upgrade, and migrate, and support high availability, security, and compliance across on‑premises and cloud environments.

The role involves coordinating with cross‑functional teams, performing proactive monitoring, backups, disaster recovery, and performance tuning to ensure reliable data services for business applications.

Qualificações

• Experience with SQL Server 2012–2025 lifecycle management.
• HA/DR solutions including Always On and log shipping.
• Security, RBAC, data protection and patching.
• Troubleshooting, performance tuning and query optimization.
• Experience with cloud SQL services (Azure/AWS) a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate with application and infrastructure teams during outages and changes.
• Lead proactive monitoring and incident response for production databases.
• Design backup, restore, and DR tests with RPO/RTO targets.
• Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting and automation tools.
• Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and ensure SOX compliance configurations.

We are looking for a SQL Server Database Administrator who wants to learn and transform his career.

Requirements:

SQL Server Administration

• Installation, configuration, upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management of SQL Server (2012–2025)
• Database provisioning, deprovisioning, capacity planning, and instance standardization
• SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) administration and SQL Server Agent management

High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HA/DR)

• Always On Availability Groups, Failover Cluster Instances (FCI), Log Shipping, and Database Mirroring
• Backup and recovery strategy design and administration
• Disaster recovery planning, testing, execution, and RPO/RTO management

Performance Tuning & Optimization

• Query tuning, index optimization, and execution plan analysis
• Query Store, DMVs, SQL Profiler, and Extended Events
• Deadlock, blocking, and wait statistics analysis
• Performance monitoring and resource optimization (CPU, memory, storage, and I/O)

Database Security & Compliance

• Authentication, authorization, and role-based access control (RBAC)
• Encryption technologies (TDE, SSL/TLS)
• Security patching, hardening, vulnerability remediation, and compliance support (SOX, PCI, etc.)

Monitoring & Troubleshooting

• Proactive monitoring, alert management, incident response, and RCA
• Database health checks, availability monitoring, and trend analysis

Backup, Restore & Data Protection

• Backup implementation, point-in-time recovery, restore validation, and data retention management
• Disaster recovery exercises and business continuity support

Automation & Scripting

• PowerShell, T-SQL, SQLCMD, and DBA automation frameworks (dbatools preferred)
• Job scheduling and maintenance process automation

Replication & Data Integration

• Transactional, Snapshot, and Merge Replication
• SSIS development, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• ETL support, data synchronization, and large-scale data migrations
• Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs
• AWS RDS for SQL Server and hybrid database architectures
• Cloud migration planning and execution

Development & Reporting Support

• T-SQL development, code reviews, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
• Schema management and database release support
• CI/CD integration and SSRS administration

Infrastructure & Operating Systems

• Windows Server fundamentals
• Active Directory integration
• Storage, SAN, networking, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and infrastructure dependencies

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with application, server, network and other teams during outages and scheduled change request work;
• Follow change management and release processes;
• Participate in 24x7 support and on‑call rotations for critical production systems;
• Troubleshoot database incidents and perform root cause analysis;
• Work with vendors and internal teams to resolve complex issues;
• Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and operational documentation;
• Automate routine DBA tasks using shell scripting and AI where applicable;
• Perform proactive monitoring for events and alerts;
• Manage all SOX compliance configurations, access control reviews, reporting, and compliance task completion;
• Stay current on all required internal company training;
• Safeguard digital assets by consistently practicing and promoting safe cyber awareness.
