Tata Consultancy Services seeks a PostgreSQL DBA to join our team in Brazil. You will manage PostgreSQL databases on AWS RDS and EC2, ensure high availability, backups, and performance tuning, and support large production environments.

You will work across Dev, Test, UAT, and Production, implementing replication strategies and disaster recovery. Strong SQL, Linux skills, and communication are required, with a focus on secure, compliant operations.

Qualificações

• Strong hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA.
• Practical experience with AWS RDS for PostgreSQL and EC2-hosted PostgreSQL.
• Experience with backup, recovery, and PITR.
• Strong skills in performance tuning and query optimization.
• Good understanding of replication, HA, and DR architectures.
• Working knowledge of AWS services: RDS, EC2, CloudWatch, IAM, S3.
• Proficiency in SQL and PostgreSQL utilities.
• Experience with Linux/Unix systems.
• Familiarity with parameter groups, maintenance windows, and storage management.
• Exposure to security and compliance best practices.
• Ability to support large, mission-critical production environments.
• Good communication, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.

Responsabilidades

• Install, configure, and administer PostgreSQL databases on AWS RDS and EC2.
• Manage day-to-day PostgreSQL operations across Dev, Test, UAT, and Production.
• Monitor database health, availability, and performance using CloudWatch and PostgreSQL tools.
• Perform backup and recovery using automated backups, snapshots, pg_dump, and WAL archiving.
• Design and maintain High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions using RDS Multi-AZ and Read Replicas.
• Perform database performance tuning including indexing and configuration tuning.
• Troubleshoot issues like slow queries, locks, and replication lag.
• Manage replication (RDS read replicas, logical replication, streaming on EC2).
• Handle upgrades, patching, and migrations; manage security and IAM-based access.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning; support scaling activities.
• Coordinate with application/DevOps during releases and incidents; automate tasks with shell/Python.
• Maintain DBA runbooks and SOPs; participate in 24x7 on-call support.

Key Responsibilities:

• nstall, configure, and administer PostgreSQL databases on AWS RDS and EC2
• Manage day‑to‑day PostgreSQL operations across Dev, Test, UAT, and Production
• Monitor database health, availability, and performance using CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and native PostgreSQL tools
• Perform backup and recovery using RDS automated backups, snapshots, pg_dump, pg_basebackup, and WAL archiving
• Design and maintain High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions using RDS Multi‑AZ, Read Replicas, and EC2‑based standby setups
• Perform database performance tuning, including query optimization, indexing, vacuuming, and configuration tuning
• Troubleshoot database issues such as slow queries, locks, deadlocks, replication lag, and connection problems
• Manage PostgreSQL replication (RDS read replicas, logical replication, streaming replication on EC2)
• Handle database upgrades, patching, and migrations (major and minor versions)
• Manage database security, including users, roles, privileges, SSL, parameter groups, and IAM‑based access (where applicable)
• Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning
• Support database scaling activities (vertical and horizontal scaling on AWS)
• Coordinate with application, DevOps, and infrastructure teams during releases and incidents
• Automate routine DBA tasks using shell scripting / Python
• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents; perform root cause analysis
• Maintain DBA documentation, SOPs, and runbooks
• Participate in 24x7 on‑call and production support
