A major healthcare provider in Brazil is looking for a Medical Director to ensure compliance with national guidelines and oversee patient care. The ideal candidate will have an MD or DO degree, board certification, and over 5 years of clinical experience. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment. Benefits include paid time off and a 401(k) plan.
The Medical Director relies on fundamentals of CMS Medicare Guidance on following and reviewing home health, SNF, DME, dual Medicare/Medicaid and Waiver requests. The Medical Director provides medical interpretation and determinations whether services provided by other healthcare professionals are in agreement with national guidelines, CMS requirements, Humana policies, clinical standards, and (in some cases) contracts.
Medical Directors will learn Medicare and Medicare Advantage requirements and understand how to operationalize this knowledge in their daily work. They work in a structured environment with expectations for consistency in thinking, authorship, meeting departmental expectations, and compliance timelines.
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range: $223,800 - $313,100 per year
