Job summary

Yazaki North America, Inc. is seeking a Traffic Generalist to join our Genk offices. You will book and track shipments, manage documentation, and coordinate cross‑border logistics, ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency.

Strong ERP experience and fluent MS Excel skills are essential. The role requires collaboration with internal teams, carriers, and customers, and may involve 24/7 coverage for emergencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, customs, or supply chain operations.
• Experience with international shipments is advantageous.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills.
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Book transport orders and monitor ETA for shipments.
• Maintain shipment records in relevant systems.
• Coordinate arrival and departure times with stakeholders and Yard systems.
• Validate transportation invoices and register in database.
• Communicate shipment requirements with carriers and logistics partners.
• Inform customers about delivery schedules and updates.
• Prepare shipping documentation (Waybills, Delivery notes, Invoices, Customs docs).
• Enter shipment data in ERP for ASN.
• Assist in PoD document delivery.
• Manage PR/PO in Coupa for services & payments.
• Perform transport RFQ in bidding portals for emergencies.
• Provide 24/7 availability on alternating weekly/monthly patterns for emergencies.
• Arrange transportation for returnable packaging materials.
• Monitor shipment status and resolve issues proactively.
• Support continuous improvement of processes.
• Plan shipments to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and customs regulations.

What will you do:

• Book transport orders, monitor and follow up progress (ETA) of in & outgoing shipments.
• Maintain shipment and transportation records in relevant systems.
• Coordinate and communicate arrival & departure times of shipments with internal stakeholders and Yard management systems.
• Validate transportation & customs service invoices, and register in database.
• Communicate shipment requirements & documents with carriers and logistics partners.
• Inform customers and stakeholders regarding delivery schedules and shipment updates. .
• Prepare and review shipping documentation, including:
  • Waybills
  • Delivery notes
  • Invoices
  • Customs documents
  • Certificates of origin and related export documentation
• Insert shipment data in ERP for ASN.
• Support in delivering documents for PoD.
• Manage PR/PO in Coupa for sourced services & payments .
• Perform transport RFQ in bidding portals for emergency / premium freights.
• Per alternating weekly/monthly pattern have 24/7 availability to support emergencies.
• Arrange transportation for returnable packaging materials
• Maintain accurate logistics and customs records.
• Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve transportation issues.
• Support continuous improvement of transportation and logistics processes.
• Plan shipments to maximize efficiency and optimize transportation costs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable customs regulations.

Your profile:

• Bachelor's degree Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 yearts of experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, customs, or supply chain operations.
• Experience working with international shipments is considered an advantage.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills.
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
• Knowledge of transportation and logistics processes.
• Understanding of import/export documentation and customs procedures.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and analyze shipment-related data.
• French, German, and/or Dutch language skills are considered as advantage.
