Job summary

Green Recruitment is seeking a Senior BESS Electrical Engineering Manager in the Brussels Region to lead the engineering and construction of large wind and battery storage projects, ensuring delivery on time and budget while upholding the highest technical standards.

You will coordinate development, procurement, construction, HSE and external partners, define technical specifications, manage tenders, supervise EPCs, and contribute to feasibility studies, grid connection, and asset performance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in engineering and/or construction of large energy or infrastructure projects.
• Experience with BESS technologies or HV electrical systems.
• Multidisciplinary project coordination.
• Experience managing complex projects from owner's engineer perspective.
• Understanding of project development, permitting, and grid connection processes.
• Analytical and able to optimize technical and financial parameters.
• Hands-on, solution-oriented, and able to operate in a fast-growing environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in Dutch or French.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and execution of large wind and BESS projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
• Define technical specifications and manage tendering processes with suppliers and contractors.
• Monitor and coordinate EPC contractors, engineers, consultants, and external partners across all project phases.
• Ensure compliance with Belgian regulations, standards, and site constraints, with focus on safety and cost efficiency.
• Coordinate internal stakeholders (development, procurement, construction, HSE) and external stakeholders (TSO, permitting authorities, consultants).
• Contribute to development phase through site assessments, feasibility studies, layout optimization and basic engineering input.
• Oversee key technical aspects including BESS design/integration, HV/MV substations and grid connection, cabling, protection, civil works.
• Act as engineering lead during construction with site visits, FAT/SAT.
• Manage project documentation, risks, quality, and reporting across multiple projects.
• Support asset performance via degradation analysis, KPI monitoring, and technical evaluation.
