Job summary

Sander Brussels is seeking a Senior Accountant to strengthen its Finance team in Walloon Brabant. You will take ownership of accounting for several entities, with autonomy and exposure to the Head of Finance, and you will work across AP/AR, payroll, and group consolidation.

This role suits someone who wants to go beyond routine transactions and drive digitalisation of processes. Fluent in French with strong English, you will contribute to VAT, Intrastat, and statutory accounts while supporting

Qualifications

• Solid experience in general accounting and autonomous closings.
• Experience in multi-entity, industrial, scale-up or accounting-firm environments is an asset.
• Fluent in French with very good professional English.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day general accounting activities and support AP/Purchase-to-Pay processes.
• Prepare bank and balance-sheet reconciliations; follow up on expenses and credit cards.
• Record payroll entries and other general ledger transactions.
• Prepare VAT, Intrastat and Intracom declarations.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
• Prepare statutory annual accounts and support external audits.
• Support Group consolidation activities.
• Implement and improve accounting controls.
• Harmonise accounting practices across entities.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, digitalise and automate accounting processes.

Our partner, a fast-growing technology & industrial company based in Walloon Brabant, is looking for a Senior Accountant to strengthen its Finance team.

As a Senior Accountant , you will join a small Finance team where you will have direct exposure to the Head of Finance and work closely with other accountants and controllers. You will manage your own accounting scope with a high level of autonomy while also contributing to the continuous improvement of the Finance function.

This is particularly interesting if you enjoy accounting but want a position where your role goes beyond AP/AR and transactional accounting .

As Senior Accountant , you will take ownership of the accounting of several entities and cover a broad accounting scope. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing day-to-day general accounting activities and supporting AP/Purchase-to-Pay processes;
• Preparing bank and balance-sheet reconciliations and following up on expenses and credit cards;
• Recording payroll entries and other general ledger transactions;
• Preparing VAT, Intrastat and Intracom declarations;
• Participating in monthly, quarterly and annual closings;
• Preparing statutory annual accounts and supporting external audits;
• Supporting Group consolidation activities;
• Implementing and improving accounting controls;
• Helping harmonise accounting practices across different entities;
• Identifying opportunities to simplify, digitalise and automate accounting processes.

The objective is not to hire someone who simply follows existing procedures. As Senior Accountant , you will be encouraged to challenge them, suggest improvements and progressively help build a more scalable Finance organisation.

• Experience: You have solid experience in general accounting and are comfortable handling closings autonomously. Experience in a multi-entity, industrial, scale-up or accounting-firm environment is an asset.
• Languages: You are fluent in French and have a very good professional level of English.
• Qualifications: You hold a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

• A permanent contract within a fast-growing Belgian technology and industrial environment ;
• A gross salary of approximately €4,600 – €4,800/month , depending on experience;
• A company car and a complete benefits package;
• 2 days of remote work per week with flexibility within the team;
• A 40-hour working week with 12 additional recovery days + 1 extra day off ;
• A high level of autonomy and no micro-management ;
• Direct collaboration with the Head of Finance and close interaction with the controlling team;
