Expertum, a consultancy focused on people and expertise, seeks a Senior Accountant in Belgium to own financial administration, closing and compliance for one or more entities, ensuring reliable and transparent reporting to the group. You will collaborate with the CFO and Group Controller.

You will manage the closing process, maintain the general ledger, ensure local VAT and statutory compliance, and support audits in a dynamic SAP-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in accounting, finance or controlling.
• Strong experience with monthly closings and balance sheet management.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and compliance.
• Fluency in Dutch, English and French.

Responsabilités

• Owning and managing the closing process, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
• Maintaining and controlling the general ledger, including accruals, journal entries and reconciliations.
• Ensuring local compliance, including VAT returns and statutory requirements.
• Aligning local financials with group reporting, ensuring consistency and transparency.
• Preparing audit documentation and supporting external audits.
• Managing intercompany reconciliations and ensuring correct application of accounting policies.
• Identifying and driving improvements in financial processes and SAP systems.
• Supporting and guiding finance team members, while acting as a sparring partner to the CFO and Group Controller.

The job

As a Senior Accountant, you are responsible for the financial administration, closing and compliance of one or more entities, ensuring reliable and transparent reporting towards the group.

Your responsibilities include:

Your profile
