Sander Brussels is seeking an Accounting Manager in Brussels to lead the accounting activities and a team of finance professionals. The role combines technical accounting, reporting, process improvement and business partnering in a highly international setting with up to 50% homeworking.

You will manage month-end closings, ensure compliance with Belgian GAAP and IFRS, and drive automation and continuous improvement across Finance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting, audit or financial reporting experience in a structured/international environment.
• Big Four experience and knowledge of IFRS is a strong asset.
• Fluent English with professional command of French and/or Dutch.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Admin or related field.

Responsabilités

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closings with accurate, timely reporting.
• Oversee GL, AP/AR, provisions, accruals, reconciliations and journal entries.
• Ensure reporting in line with Belgian GAAP and IFRS.
• Coordinate budget and forecasting processes and support management reporting.
• Prepare statutory accounts and coordinate with auditors.

Accounting Manager

Our client, an international group active in financial services, is looking for an Accounting Manager in Brussels to lead its accounting activities and team. Why apply as an Accounting Manager? Based at its Brussels corporate headquarters, you will join a highly international setting where Finance works closely with senior management and other strategic departments. This is a particularly interesting opportunity for an Accounting Manager looking for more than traditional accounting: you will combine technical accounting, team management, reporting, process improvement and business partnering, while remaining close to operational topics. Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual closings, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Oversee accounting activities including GL, AP/AR, provisions, accruals, reconciliations and journal entries.
• Ensure financial reporting in accordance with Belgian GAAP and IFRS.
• Coordinate the budget and forecasting processes and contribute to management reporting.
• Prepare statutory accounts and coordinate with internal and external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with accounting, tax, regulatory and internal control requirements.
• Manage, coach and develop a team of 5 finance professionals.
• Strengthen accounting processes, procedures and the internal control framework.
• Drive automation, digitalisation and continuous improvement initiatives within Finance.
• Collaborate closely with other teams including Treasury, Tax, Consolidation, Investments and HR.
• Act as a point of contact for senior management and provide financial and technical accounting insights.
• Contribute to finance projects and improvements of ERP and reporting tools.

Experience:

• At least 7 years of relevant experience in accounting, audit or financial reporting within a structured/international environment, combined with experience managing or supervising a team. Big Four experience and knowledge of IFRS are strong assets.

Languages:

• Fluent English, combined with a professional command of French and/or Dutch.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
