Job summary

Our partner in Brussels seeks a Senior Accountant to strengthen the Finance team. You will work closely with the Head of Accounting and contribute to closings, compliance, audits and automation of processes.

You will take ownership, expand your responsibilities, and have a visible impact on the Finance function within a fast-moving, international company in the mobility and technology sector.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of relevant accounting experience (internal or firm).
• Fluent in English; French/Dutch is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day general accounting activities.
• Participate in monthly and quarterly closings, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Oversee accounts receivable, invoicing, and aging; follow up on balances.
• Handle cash management, payments and cash-flow monitoring.
• Ensure VAT, statutory and tax compliance in Belgian GAAP environment.
• Support external audits and coordinate with Finance and other departments.

Our partner, an innovative mobility company based in Brussels, is looking for a Senior Accountant to strengthen its growing Finance team.

As Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

• Manage and supervise a broad range of day-to-day general accounting activities.
• Participate actively in monthly and quarterly closings, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Handle accruals, provisions and balance sheet accounts.
• Manage fixed assets, depreciation and impairment entries.
• Follow up on accounts receivable, invoicing, credit notes and outstanding balances.
• Participate in cash management, payments and cash-flow monitoring.
• Contribute to VAT, statutory and tax compliance in a Belgian accounting environment.
• Support the preparation and coordination of external audits.
• Work closely with colleagues across Finance and other departments.
• Participate in the improvement of internal controls, accounting processes and automation projects.
• Take ownership of ad-hoc financial projects depending on the evolution of the business.

Experience:

• You have approximately 3 to 7 years of experience in accounting, whether gained internally or within an accounting firm/fiduciary, and you are comfortable with general accounting and closing activities.
• Languages: You are fluent in English; knowledge of French, Dutch or another European language is an asset.
• Qualifications: You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field and have a good understanding of Belgian accounting principles (BE GAAP).
