A reputable OEM in Tasmania is seeking a Yardperson/Trade Assistant for a part-time role in Burnie. This entry-level position offers training and skills development, focusing on organising parts, maintaining the workshop, and working closely with experienced tradespeople. Responsibilities
- Parts in and out of the workshop/store.
- Organising parts for maintenance projects.
- Cleaning and preparing machines for mine sites.
- Handling paperwork for workshop operations.
- VIN number parts lookup and coordination.
- General yard housekeeping tasks.

The workshop role
Reporting to the workshop supervisor and working closely with experienced tradespeople on the floor, your role will involve:
- Parts in and out of the workshop/ store
- Organising parts for maintenance projects in the workshop
- Cleaning and preparing machines to head back out to mine sites
- Paperwork for machines coming into the workshop and heading out
- VIN number parts look up and coordination or parts with the tradespeople on the floor
- General yard housekeeping from sweeping and organising the workshop and tools
Your value
You will ideally come from a background in warehousing or heavy industry, however as this role is entry level your biggest attributes will be your attitude towards work, work ethic and physical fitness working in a role involving manual handling. Your other skills and experience will involve:
- High levels of organisation and attention to detail
- A keen eagerness to learn and forward your skills in heavy industry
- Ability to work in a team and autonomously
- An excellent attitude towards work
