A local government council is seeking casual Arts and Culture Support Officers to enhance community access to arts. This role involves delivering customer service at arts facilities and supporting workshops and community programs. Applicants should have experience in customer service, strong communication skills and a passion for the arts. Located 20km west of Sydney on Dharug country with a population of over 245000 residents Cumberland City Council is the fourth most populous Local Government Area in Greater Sydney. The Arts and Culture team foster access to arts and culture for those who live work play and study in Cumberland by supporting developing and delivering community arts and cultural projects programmes and initiatives reflective of Cumberlands communities. The team have been nominated in the 2022 FBi Radio SMAC Awards for the Best Arts Program for Granville Centre Art Gallery one of Western Sydneys newest contemporary art spaces. The team also lead Council cultural facility Peacock Gallery and Auburn Arts Studio. The teams annual program of activity includes multi artform programmes and projects public art Artist in Residence programmes and delivery of the Cumberland Cultural Plan.
Were seeking enthusiastic Arts and Culture Support Officers (Casual) to deliver exceptional customer service at Councils key arts facilities including Granville Centre Art Gallery Peacock Gallery at Auburn Botanic Gardens and other Council facilities and this role youll help activate our cultural spaces by supporting exhibitions workshops and community programmes that provide access to creativity arts and culture for people who live work play and study in Cumberland.
This opportunity is advertised internally and may suit existing Council employees looking to supplement their current employment with light additional hours and gain new experiences. The role is serviced by a pool of casual employees on a rotating roster and availability across weekdays evenings and weekends is preferable.

Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
