Job summary

Melbourne City Lexus in Melbourne is seeking a proactive Workshop Controller to oversee daily workshop operations, allocate work to technicians and ensure vehicles meet Lexus quality standards. You will collaborate with Service Advisors, Technicians and Parts to maintain a smooth, safe and productive workshop flow.

The role requires leadership, strong diagnostic knowledge, and excellent organisation to manage competing priorities and deliver outstanding customer satisfaction in a premium

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Foreman, Leading Hand or Senior Technician.
• Strong automotive technical knowledge and diagnostic ability.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Control and coordinate the daily workshop workflow
• Allocate repair and servicing jobs to technicians based on skills, capacity and workload
• Monitor job progress, productivity and workshop efficiency
• Ensure vehicles are completed within agreed timeframes and to Lexus quality standards
• Support technicians with technical and workflow-related issues
• Liaise closely with Service Advisors regarding job progress, additional work and completion times
• Conduct quality control checks and ensure vehicles are ready for customer collection
• Assist with diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues where required
• Maintain high standards of workshop safety, housekeeping and compliance
• Support the Service Manager in achieving departmental performance targets
