Job summary

AECOM Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Technical Director with a strong Building Structures background to join our national Building Engineering team. This senior leadership role combines technical and design leadership, project delivery, commercial management, client engagement and business development.

Based across Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth or Adelaide, you will lead multidisciplinary projects and drive opportunities for growth while reporting to the ANZ Building Engineer Sector

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Civil / Structural Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer and relevant registrations.
• Extensive experience in building engineering, with a strong background in multidisciplinary projects.
• Proven senior technical, project or business leadership experience.
• Strong commercial understanding including budgets, programmes and contracts.
• Experience in client engagement, business development and winning work.
• Demonstrated leadership of high-performing project teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Established network within the Australian building engineering market.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical and design leadership across major Building Engineering projects.
• Lead project teams and manage successful delivery of a portfolio of projects.
• Engage with clients to understand needs, build relationships and provide solutions.
• Lead design management, technical reviews and project delivery across disciplines.
• Support business development through client engagement and proposals.
• Identify opportunities to grow services with existing and new clients.
• Provide commercial oversight including budgets, pricing, contracts and reviews.
• Build high-performing teams and support career development.
• Collaborate with senior leaders on resource planning and growth of capability.
• Represent AECOM with clients, industry partners and the wider community.
