Job summary

AECOM Australia is seeking a Technical Director with a strong Building Services background to lead our national Building Engineering team in Melbourne. This senior role blends technical leadership, design direction, project delivery, and business development across major multidisciplinary projects.

You will report to Sector leadership, shape client engagements, oversee budgets and contracts, and build high-performing teams while advancing AECOM's integrated engineering capabilities across the

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Fire/Hydraulics Engineering with 20+ years in building services in Australia.
• Chartered Engineer and relevant registrations.
• Extensive experience in multidisciplinary building services projects.
• Experience in a senior technical, project or business leadership role.
• Strong understanding of project budgets, programmes, contracts and financial performance.
• Strong client engagement, commercial management and business development experience.
• Proven ability to lead and grow high-performing project teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical and design leadership across major Building Engineering projects with focus on quality, programme, budget and client outcomes.
• Lead project teams and manage delivery of a portfolio of projects.
• Engage with clients to understand needs and provide practical engineering solutions.
• Lead design management, technical reviews and project delivery across multidisciplinary teams.
• Support business development and work-winning through client engagement and proposals.
• Identify opportunities to grow AECOM’s services with existing and new clients.
• Provide commercial oversight including budgets, pricing, contracts and project reviews.
• Build and develop high-performing teams and support career progression.
• Collaborate with senior leaders on resource planning and growth of Building Engineering capability.
• Represent AECOM with clients, industry partners and the wider engineering community.
