Job summary

AECOM in Sydney seeks a Technical Director to lead the Structural Engineering Team. You will guide landmark projects, provide technical direction and ensure quality from concept to delivery. A senior leader will mentor engineers, foster client ties, and drive proposals to grow AECOM’s presence in ANZ.

The role emphasizes leadership, design reviews, and cross-disciplinary coordination within a national Building Engineering group, with hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering with 20+ years in structural engineering.
• CPEng or Engineers Australia registration or equivalent.
• Experience delivering complex structural projects in Australia.
• Proven leadership, design reviews and project leadership experience.
• Ability to lead projects and manage client relationships.
• Strong communication and mentoring of engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team delivering landmark structural and multidisciplinary projects.
• Provide technical leadership, including design reviews and assurance.
• Act as Project Director on major projects with clients and teams.
• Mentor Sydney structural team and develop future leaders.
• Grow client relationships and contribute to proposals and work winning.
• Share knowledge across Building Engineering group and standards.
