Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an Account Executive to drive growth and deepen relationships within the Australian and New Zealand Public Sector. You will lead strategic government accounts, develop plans, and deliver revenue targets while guiding cloud and AI transformations.

Working with Solutions Architects, Professional Services and Partners, you’ll manage executive relationships, navigate procurement processes, and present business reviews to leadership while advancing measurable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• Experience in Federal Government or equivalent account management.
• Experience with end-customer sales in cloud/software and working with partners via account management, program management, and business development.
• Strong English-language communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience developing, negotiating and executing business agreements with Federal Government or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute account plans for assigned public sector customers, driving revenue growth and cloud and AI adoption.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders (Director/SES level) across government agencies.
• Manage a robust sales pipeline from lead generation through qualification, proposal, negotiation, and close.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Solutions Architects, Technical Account Managers, Professional Services, and Partners to deliver customer outcomes.
• Identify customer business challenges and map AWS solutions to deliver measurable value.
• Navigate government procurement processes including panel arrangements, RFPs/RFTs, and standing offers.
• Present business reviews and account updates to sales leadership on a regular cadence.
• Contribute to team knowledge sharing, process improvement, and best practice development.
• Represent AWS at industry events, customer meetings, and partner forums.
• Stay informed on public sector trends including digital strategy, data sovereignty, cybersecurity, and AI/ML adoption.
• Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.
