Strategic Public Sector Account Executive — Cloud & AI

Job summary

AWS is seeking an Account Executive to drive growth and deepen relationships within ANZ Public Sector, supporting government accounts and delivering revenue targets. You will work with Solutions Architects, Professional Services, and Partners to deliver cloud and AI transformations.

Role requires autonomy, executive engagement, and the ability to navigate procurement processes while mapping AWS solutions to customer challenges.

Qualifications

• Experience creating and implementing long-term transformational account strategies in a customer-facing role or equivalent.
• Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Experience with end-customer sales in the cloud or software industry and a successful track record with consulting or technology partners through account management, program management, and business development
• Experience developing, negotiating and executing business agreements with Federal Government or equivalent
• Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS or equivalent
• Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS, or experience with project management
• Knowledge of key technology and market trends impacting federal government, including sovereign AI, zero trust, and multi-domain operations

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute account plans for assigned public sector customers, driving revenue growth and cloud and AI adoption
• Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders (Director/SES level) across government agencies
• Manage a robust sales pipeline from lead generation through qualification, proposal, negotiation, and close
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Solutions Architects, Technical Account Managers, Professional Services, and Partners to deliver customer outcomes
• Identify customer business challenges and map AWS solutions to deliver measurable value
• Navigate government procurement processes including panel arrangements, RFPs/RFTs, and standing offers
• Present business reviews and account updates to sales leadership on a regular cadence
• Contribute to team knowledge sharing, process improvement, and best practice development
• Represent AWS at industry events, customer meetings, and partner forums
• Stay informed on public sector trends including digital strategy, data sovereignty, cybersecurity, and AI/ML adoption
• Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets
