Job summary

Amazon Web Services Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Account Executive to drive growth and deepen relationships within the ANZ public sector. You will manage strategic government accounts, develop account plans, and deliver revenue targets while guiding customers through cloud transformation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of technology related sales, business development or equivalent experience.
• Experience in management of large, complex enterprise accounts or equivalent.
• Experience and track record of exceeding sales goals.
• Experience with government procurement and contracting process.
• Experience working with and influencing senior level stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Knowledge of the digital and search landscape.
• Experience selling cloud solutions at a software company or equivalent.
• 3+ years of working directly with government officials and regulatory bodies experience.
• Knowledge of security technology and concepts (Authentication, Authorization, Single sign-on, Cryptography, etc.)
• Knowledge of AWS Infrastructure
• Experience in digital transformation programs within government, healthcare, or education.
• Australian government security clearance (NV1) or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute account plans for assigned public sector customers, driving revenue growth and cloud adoption.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders (Director/SES level) across government agencies.
• Manage a robust sales pipeline from lead generation through qualification, proposal, negotiation, and close.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Solutions Architects, Technical Account Managers, Professional Services, and Partners to deliver customer outcomes.
• Identify customer business challenges and map AWS solutions to deliver measurable value.
• Navigate government procurement processes including panel arrangements, RFPs/RFTs, and standing offers.
• Present business reviews and account updates to sales leadership on a regular cadence.
• Contribute to team knowledge sharing, process improvement, and best practice development.
• Represent AWS at industry events, customer meetings, and partner forums.
• Stay informed on public sector trends including digital strategy, data sovereignty, cybersecurity, and AI/ML adoption.
• Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.
