Job summary

Amazon Web Services Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an Account Executive to drive growth and deepen relationships within the ANZ Public Sector, including federal government accounts. You will develop account plans, manage revenue targets, and collaborate with Solutions Architects, Professional Services, and Partners to deliver cloud and AI transformation for government agencies.

Qualifications

• Experience creating transformational account strategies in a customer-facing role.
• Strong English-language communication skills (written and verbal).
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Experience in end-customer cloud/software sales with partners via account management, program management and business development.
• Experience developing, negotiating and executing federal government/business agreements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute account plans for assigned public sector customers, driving revenue growth and cloud and AI adoption.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders (Director/SES level) across government agencies.
• Manage a robust sales pipeline from lead generation through qualification, proposal, negotiation, and close.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Solutions Architects, Technical Account Managers, Professional Services, and Partners to deliver customer outcomes.
• Identify customer business challenges and map AWS solutions to deliver measurable value.
• Navigate government procurement processes including panel arrangements, RFPs/RFTs, and standing offers.
• Present business reviews and account updates to sales leadership on a regular cadence.
• Contribute to team knowledge sharing, process improvement, and best practice development.
• Represent AWS at industry events, customer meetings, and partner forums.
• Stay informed on public sector trends including digital strategy, data sovereignty, cybersecurity, and AI/ML adoption.
• Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.
