Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Account Executive to drive growth within the ANZ Public Sector, managing strategic government accounts and delivering revenue targets. You will work with Solutions Architects, Professional Services, and Partner teams to deliver cloud transformations that meet public sector goals.

You will build executive relationships, own account plans, and navigate complex procurement, RFPs, and standing offers while staying informed on policy and technology trends

Qualifications

• Experience creating and implementing long-term account strategies for government customers.
• Experience negotiating and executing business agreements with public sector clients.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in a customer-facing role.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; AWS certification preferred.
• Experience with technology customers, such as software providers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute account plans for assigned public sector customers, driving revenue growth and cloud adoption.
• Build relationships with senior stakeholders across government agencies.
• Manage a robust sales pipeline from lead generation to close.
• Collaborate with Solutions Architects, Professional Services, and Partners to deliver outcomes.
• Identify customer challenges and map AWS solutions to deliver measurable value.
• Navigate government procurement processes including panel arrangements and RFPs/RFTs.
• Present business reviews and account updates to sales leadership regularly.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing, process improvement, and best practice development.
• Represent AWS at industry events, customer meetings, and partner forums.
• Stay informed on public sector trends including digital strategy, data sovereignty, and cybersecurity.
