Job summary

The Salvation Army Employment Plus is seeking a specialist case worker to support participants with a history of offending to overcome barriers and secure meaningful employment. You will conduct in-depth assessments, develop tailored employment plans, and coordinate with employers and support services.

Working in a small team, you’ll provide person-centred support, build relationships with stakeholders, and maintain clear records to support successful reintegration into the community.

Qualifications

• Significant experience supporting ex-offenders, forensic clients or justice-involved individuals in a case management, employment, rehabilitation or community services setting.
• Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with individuals presenting complex behavioural, social, housing, mental health, alcohol and other drug, or criminogenic needs.
• Experience conducting needs assessments and developing employment or support plans.
• Well-developed relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A Diploma qualification in Community Services or a related field, together with relevant justice-sector experience.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, supportive relationships with SOFI participants and assess barriers.
• Develop tailored employment plans and provide person-centred support.
• Deliver culturally safe, client-focused services and refer to training or community supports.
• Identify job opportunities and advocate with local employers.
• Maintain records and contribute to team discussions and continuous improvement.
