Job summary

The Salvation Army, through Employment Plus, is seeking a specialist to support people with a history of offending to overcome barriers and secure sustainable employment. You will conduct in-depth assessments, develop tailored employment plans, and work with employers to create pathway opportunities for participants.

In this role you will collaborate with a small specialist team, deliver culturally safe, person-centred support, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Significant experience supporting ex-offenders, forensic clients or justice-involved individuals in a case management, employment, rehabilitation or community services setting.
• Ability to engage effectively with individuals with complex needs including behavioural, housing, mental health and substance use issues.
• Experience developing tailored employment or support plans with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with SOFI participants and support them to overcome barriers.
• Conduct needs assessments and develop tailored employment plans.
• Deliver culturally safe, person-centred support for individuals with complex needs.
• Refer participants to training, community and other support services.
• Identify employment opportunities and advocate with employers.
